Once the honeymoon is planned and all the wedding details are finalized, you’ll be looking down at your empty suitcase, wondering how you should fill it. Packing for the honeymoon is one of the last things on a bride’s pre-wedding to-do list. But sometimes the simple task of packing can seem daunting as you try to find the perfect balance between over-packing and under-packing. The struggle is real!

Don’t worry, we have you covered with this helpful list of must-packs.

1. Important Documents

This is huge! If you forget your favorite pair of sandals, it’s a bummer, but you can easily purchase a new pair at the gift shop once you arrive. But, if you forget important documents, like your passport, you won’t even be able to pass through security at the airport. Passports, driver’s licenses, health insurance cards, travel insurance information, and copies of prescriptions are the most important things to remember.

To be extra safe, you can make photocopies of these important documents, and keep one on your person and one in your luggage while traveling.
You can also carry paper copies of your airline tickets, travel itinerary, and booking information, but these documents can be accessed on your phone or tablet as well.

2. Electronic Chargers

Let’s face it — our smartphones are very important to us. Not only do they keep us connected, but they store a lot of our information, like one-tap banking and airline ticket barcodes. Plus, for most people, smartphones are our cameras and video cameras. When traveling, make sure you have phone chargers on hand, as well as a portable charger for when all the airport outlets are taken. Portable chargers are great for when you’re out exploring, too, and not near electricity. If you choose to bring a tablet, laptop, or smartwatch, make sure you pack the right accessories for those as well. You can purchase cord-keeper bags to keep everything organized and not a tangled mess!

3. Clothes That Make You Feel Your Best

When eyeing up that large pile of clothes you’ve grabbed from your closet, take time to think about what you’ll actually wear during your paradise honeymoon. If you plan to spend most of your time on the beach, choose your clothing accordingly. Multiple swimsuits ensure you’ll always have a dry one. Make sure you pack clothes that are comfortable and make you feel your best. Flowy maxi dresses and colorful sundresses are always popular picks for beach locales — because they’re cute, and can be dressed up or down, depending on the location. If you plan to spend time hiking or exploring, pack comfortable activewear and shoes. Even though it can be tempting to pack a brand-new pair of sandals, it’s always best to bring shoes that have been worn in. Nobody wants blisters on their honeymoon!

4. Excursion Essentials

Chances are, you’ll spend your honeymoon exploring and adventuring, whether that’s hiking to a waterfall or browsing local boutiques. No matter what plans you might have, you can’t go wrong in packing smaller bags to take on these excursions to fill with your essentials. That could mean bringing your own beach bag, so you have plenty of space for your towel, sunscreen and a new beach read. Or, you might wear a mini backpack to keep an extra sweater, phone chargers, your inhaler, and an umbrella. This way, you’ll always have what you need on hand!

5. Extra Room For Souvenirs

It can be tempting to fill your suitcase to the brim, but it’s always good to remember that you’ll probably buy things on your honeymoon to bring home. Whether it’s a bottle of local wine or coffee, a T-shirt, an ornament for your first married Christmas, or a piece of art from a local boutique, souvenirs will be tangible memories of your honeymoon.
